Terms
These terms are the agreement for using ShiftLedger (SL365) at shiftledger.io. They describe the service as it works on 22 October 2026.
The service
ShiftLedger organises gig-work financial records you choose to add. You upload a supported Uber PDF. ShiftLedger extracts the figures it can read and keeps the link to that source. It reconciles admitted records. You control what you add. The workspace holds those records. You can add expenses, view a quarterly record, and download an accountant handoff.
Where a supported Uber monthly document prints mileage, ShiftLedger can show that printed mileage. En-route and on-trip figures stay separate. That display is the mileage on the document. It is not a mileage allowance and it is not a tax calculation.
What ShiftLedger is not
ShiftLedger is not an accountant, a tax adviser, or a government filing service.
- It does not submit information to HMRC.
- It does not calculate your tax.
- It does not decide whether an expense is tax-deductible.
- It does not prepare or file a tax return.
- A status of ready for handoff means the record is ready for you to review and pass on. It does not mean a return has been filed.
You remain responsible for checking your records and for obtaining professional advice where you need it.
In this service ShiftLedger also does not track journeys by GPS, calculate a mileage tax allowance, read receipt images, connect to a bank, offer an accountant login, take payment, or read gig platforms other than the Uber PDF formats it already supports.
Your records and your access token
Upload records and enter expenses only where you have the right to use them. Use your own workspace. Do not put another person's records into it.
If a PDF cannot be read, ShiftLedger holds it and does not invent the missing figures. Unknown information stays unknown.
Keep the access token private. Anyone with the token can open the workspace. ShiftLedger shows the token once. There is no separate password or email login. Where an invite code is required, you need a valid code to create a workspace.
Reports and the handoff
Quarterly pages and the accountant handoff are prepared from the records admitted in the workspace and the expenses you added. Review them before you rely on them or send them to an accountant. ShiftLedger does not send them to HMRC.
Availability and closing a workspace
This is a controlled service. Pages can change, and a workspace can be unavailable during maintenance. Sign out ends the browser session where the product offers it. Sign out does not delete the workspace. To close the workspace, use the support contact. The Privacy page explains what is stored and for how long.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to open another customer's workspace, or interfere with the service.
Payment
ShiftLedger does not take payment in this service. If a charge is introduced later, it will be stated before you are asked to pay. Nothing on this page is a price.
Responsibility
ShiftLedger is a records service. It is not a substitute for checking your own figures or for an accountant. ShiftLedger is not responsible for tax, penalties, or decisions that you or an adviser make from the records. Nothing in these terms removes liability that the law does not allow to be removed.
